THE PROFANE, THE MYSTIC AND COSMIC MAN - by Huberto
Rohden
Profane man lives with his mind facing finite things
and with his back to the Infinite.
From the Reality (God), he knows nothing, because he is
impregnated with all the things that his senses offer to him... the finite
reality and the finite illusions.
For him, reality are these reflections, the creatures and all
things empirical and analytical. When the profane man is unwillingly, he denies
or disbelieves the existence of a Reality beyond the atmosphere in which he
lives.
This class of profane call themselves agnostics (those who
ignore) or atheists (the deniers).
When the profane is willingly, or in a good faith, but still
with no understanding or wisdom, he is called believer. He believes that there
is somewhere the Reality, which one day he hopes to meet in the future and in
distant regions from Earth.
He is facing directly to the finite. He is world-convert and
Theo-averse.
The mystic man had a revelation of the Reality (God),
and became so delighted with the unprecedented discovery that he turned his back
to the finite and lives contemplating the Infinite, inebriated, in permanent
honeymoon with the stupendous Reality, in which he made his spiritual
nuptials.
The invisible Reality is for him everything, all the things
visible, real and illusory that his senses and intellect offers, not count
anymore.
His Theo-conversion led him to the world-aversion. He turned
his mind directly to the Infinite and he forgot the finite.
This behaviour consists in all of the greatness of the mystic
- and is the limit of his greatness.
The mystic man is Theo-guided and world-averse.
The cosmic man, initially, also took the attitude of
the mystic, turning his back to the world of God in order to find the God of the
world, but a God outside the world.
This kind of mystique easily degenerates into mysticism.
However, what is strange and incomprehensible in cosmic man is the fact that he
has overcome this anti-finite and pro-Infinite attitude.
He took over, finally, a harmonious attitude between God and
the world, because he made the greatest discovery that a mortal man can do: he
discovered the God of the world in God's world, a unified vision, and no longer
feels the need to return his back to the world to have his face turned to God.
He sees God and the world simultaneously with a single glance,
see in God the cause and see in the world the effects of this cause; sees the
Source and the channels, the Creator and the creatures, the Infinite Essence and
all finite existences.
The cosmic man did the great peace treaty in the sanctuary of
his soul, full of wisdom. He knows and savours the integral Reality, which is in
all sets of real and illusory things, therefore partial. Reconciled with God's
world, because he is in harmony with the God of the world.
But woe to the man who consider himself prematurely cosmic!
The one who deems to be born to the cosmic dimension before the end of his
mystique gestation! Will be a deplorable miscarriage... because he will give
birth to a dead offspring...
Woe to the man who loves the things of the world without
having plunged deep in love and worship of God ...
Thousands of profane men say they are cosmic... but they never
crossed the mystic path, and therefore cannot safely love the world in God,
because they never love God without the world. Delude them, thinking that they
can pass directly from the profane level to the cosmic level without crossing
through the mystical level. They do not know that the Integral Truth is an
affirmation of the world that went through the denial of the world. They are not
aware that to save their lives they have the courage to lose it... They do not
know that to live gloriously one have to have the sincerity to die
spontaneously.
Who never loved God without the world cannot love the world in
God, but will love the world without God.
It is of urgent necessity that man has the supreme sincerity
to be intensely mystical before moving to be extensively cosmic. Who never
learned to love the Lord his God with all his soul, with all his mind, with all
his heart and with all his strength, without deviating this love and this
worship in spirit and in truth - should not dare to leave his sacred nirvana to
enter the profane sansara because that entry into that zone would be a
profanation.
And even after entering the area of cosmic consciousness, man
must return periodically to the area of mystical loneliness, alone with God and
his soul, as did the Nazarene, passing whole nights in the wilderness solitude
and silence of the mountains, in association with God...
Do not dare to be solidary with the world who was never
solitary in God!
