PRAYER - ESSENCE OF ALL RELIGIONS

There are no heretics in the field of prayer. All spiritual men of all religions agree that prayer is the quintessence of the relationship between man and God.

Two premises in human life are absolutely certain:

1) - That prayer when genuine is always a positive and beneficial element in man's life;
2) - That we totally ignore how prayer works on human life; its peculiar technique is for us still unknown. We know only its purpose - but we ignore how prayer may work.

Nobody knows whether our prayer will be effective in the direction we desire or expect; we ignore if what we have in mind is going to happen or not. Prayer looks something like a gamble, totally arbitrary. In reality, what it is certain is that prayer obeys invariable laws - but man does not know these laws.
