DISCOVER GOD WITHIN YOU!

DISCOVER GOD WITHIN YOU! - by Huberto Rohden

This should be the greatest adventure of your life: to discover God within you.

Do you live in the traditional illusion that God dwells in heaven, a region innocently understood by you, far somewhere in the Universe, and that God should be sought in distant and uncertain space odysseys.

They say that there are few places on Earth where God is most present - and this is the reason why you undertake pilgrimages to distant regions in order to be a little closer to this distant God.

They also say that it is so great the distance between God and you, that all men doubt you'll have enough strength to reach the end of this journey.

They say further that this journey does not seem to be a task for the present life, but a post-mortem one...  that God is hidden behind the thick veil of corporeal flesh, and that once destroyed that veil of flesh, God will appear visible...

My poor pilgrim... great shall be your illusion!

God is everywhere, but the conscious contact with God is at the confluence of your individual consciousness and the Universal Consciousness, there, where the small stream of your personality flows into the vast ocean of the Divinity.

After discovering God within you, it is easy to find HIM everywhere, in all beings; because otherwise, these beings would have no existence, since externally to God there is no autonomous reality, unique, but only pseudo-realities...

Discover God within you - and you will find yourself in God...

And in God you will see your fellow humans and the whole world...

TO PERCEIVE THE INVISIBLE ON THE VISIBLE

TO PERCEIVE THE INVISIBLE ON THE VISIBLE - by Huberto Rohden

The most urgent need for the world today are men who, in the midst of the visible world, know how to walk with certainty and security in the invisible Reality, men who lives in the world, but whose kingdom is not of the world.

The profane man ignores the Reality, in doing so he cannot help humanity. The hermit desert the world to live alone with his God, and thus has no contact with the disoriented humanity. Only the integral spiritual man, the realistic, is the only one able to redeem mankind, because he alone possesses the necessary mystical verticality and the indispensable ethical horizontality in order to bring the God of the world, men who live in God's world ignoring God.

The profane is a blind man who runs vigorously, but not knowing to where – magni passus extra viam - big steps... out of the path (St. Augustine).

The hermit is a seer who, paralysed with fear, prefer to retire to a cave, away from the malice of the world.

The spiritual man is a seer who walk safe and secure in the paths of the profane world, without been contaminated, but instead radiating to his fellow men the light of his clairvoyance and the strength of his holiness.

GOD IN US

GOD IN US - by Huberto Rohden

No one can find God in the outer macrocosm of the universe without first, meet him in the microcosm of his own inner Self.

However, if man found God within himself, find him spontaneously everywhere, in an insect, in a flower, throughout the whole Universe, even where God does not seem to exist. It is that God is always present in man, but man is often absent from God. The kingdom of God is within every man, but not every man is the kingdom of God.

To see the kingdom of God within, man must reborn in spirit, to open the eyes of his true divine Self, moving from ignorance to wisdom, from blindness to clairvoyance, from darkness to light, from death to life, from material profanity to spiritual initiation.

START DOING A GENERAL CLEANING!

START DOING A GENERAL CLEANING! - by Huberto Rohden

--- We are celebrating!

--- Flowers everywhere, on the tables, on the walls, on the windowsills! ...

--- But you forgot one thing, my friend.

--- I beg your pardon?

--- A general cleaning of the house! Look at the cobwebs in the corner! Look at the speck on the floor! Dirt everywhere!

--- Never mind! The flowers will cover everything.

--- But I think, before covering with flowers, it would require too much sweep, creosote, detergent, bleach, solvent, etc...

Happiness is life having a party - and party in life. But to have party and flowers, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the house.

Unfortunately, our civilization and social life are almost all based on lies, fraud, deceit, hypocrisy and other filth.

The lady of the manor gives order to the maid to tell visitors that the "owner is not at home."

The dealer has to constantly lie to customers to sell his goods.

The milkman lies saying that milk with 50% of water is pure milk.

In order to sell more and to meet the taste of addicted consumers, the winemaker adds to his wine, apart of water and aniline, a handful of spices and harmful drugs.

The pharmacist falsifies its laboratory products to earn more money, endangering the lives and health of those who ingest the drugs.

The public campaigner lies that his candidate is the best in the world, when he knows that his patriotism is looking only for possible profits if his candidate wins the election.

The speaker stands up in the podium, aware of his unmatched expertise and began his speech with the familiar words: "I, despite my utter incompetence..." opening slight pause to listen to the first few rows a murmur of "not supported", which ends up being a most gentle caress to his vanity.

"Very pleased to meet you" - how many times this stereotypical phrase reveals only feelings diametrically opposed of what the lips say?

Most of the radio and television advertisements for the consumers are lies in the service of greed.

So ingrained are these and other social vices that it is almost impossible to live in society without being infected by these lies and hypocrisies. All this is moral dirt, making it virtually impossible to develop a true happiness.

I once went into a store to buy an item. One of the salesmen showed me the article desired, but then added: "It is not the best, but you will find better things in that store..." pointing me the direction!

I seemed to be witnessing a miracle, because the seller should assure me that the article that his store is selling it is the best in the world, unsurpassed, without competitor and never equalled!  And how, instead, shows me a store where I can buy something better?

However, better publicity could not make the employee's store than he did: being outrageously honest! The fact is, since that day, I just went to shop in his store, advertising it to all my  friends. "Honesty is the best policy" - "Honesty is the best philosophy" - pure fact that few people comprehend.

When a person starts to be absolutely honest, in all thoughts, words and deeds of his life, discovers something hitherto completely ignored. And how to explain this something?

The fact is that this individual discovers within himself a "safe place" - or better - a kind of bulwark or fortress, a point of refuge in the storms of life. And even if the storm is violent, within this safe haven the soul lives in perfect peace and serenity.

This person found that "happiness" or "unhappiness" is not something that can happen triggered from external circumstances, but produced within.  This person found a huge difference between "happiness" and "pleasure", between "unhappiness" and "suffering". Pleasures and sufferings are in the nerves, in the flesh, on the surface of the peripheral Self - while happiness or unhappiness is something that resides in the central Self, in the soul. This person verifies that no other person or thing can make her (him) happy or unhappy - but that only she (he) are themselves, the author of their happiness or unhappiness.

Then... candidate to true happiness! Write well within your heart this truth: "I WILL NOT DEPEND ON MY HAPPINESS FOR SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT DEPEND ON ME"!

THE COCONUT TREE AND ITS SEED

THE COCONUT TREE AND ITS SEED - by Huberto Rohden

It was once a large coconut tree 10 meters high. And resting by its side on the floor, a seed approximately 2 cm in diameter.

And the coconut tree said to the seed: - you are what I am.

And the seed replied: - No... I am not what you are. You are a tree 10 meters tall and I am a tiny seed.

- No, said the coconut tree, I am not referring to your skin, your shell. I am referring to your living germ, your shell is not alive. You are in your germ what I am in my life. Because the life of your germ is the same life that is in me.

- How can this be possible, said the seed. I will be some day what you are now?

- You will become externally what you are already internally... like I am now. Because our essence is the same, only our existence at this moment,  is different. The quality is the same, only the quantity is different.

- And what I have to do, asked the seed, to be like what you are now?

- Well, said the coconut tree, your shell has to disintegrate one day. And you will be also what I am now.

- Sorry... I did not understand, what do you mean by to disintegrate? You mean I'm going to die?

- No, you are not going to die, because if you die you will never become a coconut tree. You will not die. Your shell, something around you that protects you now, will disintegrate one day. This is now an aid to you. But soon this will be an obstacle that must be destroyed so that your content can expand.

And the seed at first, did not believe she would die; because she was always looking for her dead shell, which... was not alive, a hard shell, inert. But she had never set eyes on her living germ because life is not something visible, only the outer shell is visible. She was limited in her shell and was terrified of her so called disintegration. Thought she was going to die and not something that she had around her. She had no self-awareness, as we would say in popular language. She was confused about what she looked like and did not identify herself with what she really was in fact.

And this is our greatest mistake... not knowing in fact, who we are...

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK

YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK - by Huberto Rohden

Man is the result of his habitual thoughts. The mental attitude creates external acts. Who lives, usually in broad and benevolent thoughts cannot practice narrow and malevolent acts.

Therefore, be careful with your thoughts! Food for many - poison for the very many...

The education of thoughts is the basis for all education - and who gives importance to this prime factor of pedagogy? How can one be good if his thoughts are bad?...

The "cold war" of the newspapers prepare the "hot war" on the battlefield; creating the opportunity to ignite the fuel. Governments should categorically prohibit any mental and verbal harassment in order to avoid real hostilities. But the heresy of "freedom of thought" and "freedom of the press" does not allow this kind of service of mental and social prophylaxis.

"He who sows winds, storms reap"...

United Nations is undoubtedly a beautiful ideal - but never will be a solid reality until we do not have United Minds.

Ghandi did not allow his fellows of ahimsa and satyagraha to feed themselves with hostiles thoughts against the English, to prevent them to practice hostile acts.

To think evil is the prelude to do harm.

WHY WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW SPIRITUAL GUIDES?

WHY WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW SPIRITUAL GUIDES? - By Huberto Rohden

Ultimately, who is enthusiast for a spiritual guide, is enthusiast by his own Divine Self or inner Christ because, potentially, every man is a spiritual guide himself. Within each of us sleeps a metaphysical and mystical genius; when then appears in the objective plane, a spiritual genius, we feel, in the unconscious depths of our human nature, that this spiritual genius are ourselves in germinal state; we perceive the echo of a distant voice, the vibrations of light, the heat from a fire that is also in us, but still implicitly, when on that spiritual genius that fire is already explicitly burning. Every fuel - wood, coal, gasoline, etc. - is a potential fire, and fire is just the fuel in a dynamic state.

"If the eye were not solar - says Goethe - could never contemplate the sun."

Likewise, if the soul were not Divine or Christ like, could never respond to the voice of God or Christ. Therefore, the Christ of the human soul enters into vibration when another soul, already in an advanced state of being Christ like, appears on the scene – like the seed deep in the ground, it begins to vibrate when realizes, in full darkness, the mysterious vibrations of the solar heat.

Ultimately, our guru or an external spiritual guide is our Divine Self or our internal Christ, personified casually in Master A, B or C.

EXPERIENCE AND THE MYSTICS OF NATURE

EXPERIENCE AND THE MYSTICS OF NATURE - by Huberto Rohden

The true mystic becomes one with the great Whole and with every part of this Whole - with God and with any creature of God.

The profane, the more he enjoys, the more he becomes incapable of enjoying, and finally exhale the last bit of his ability to enjoy - and then, the only thing left is a hell of boredom, the mad house or suicide. The enjoyment itself precludes the enjoyment - this is the curse of all profane joy.

The mystic, however, thanks to the blessed discipline of renunciation, opens up infinite doors for an intense, endless and pure joy. God is like a colourless light, but the revelations of God are uncountable and without measure, like  the colours created by light, and each new aspect of God creates new joy to the spiritual man.

The true mystic rejoices when contemplates a pebble, an insect, a bird, a fish, a plant, a dewdrop, because he sees the eternal Reality through these ephemeral vestments.

Celebrate his cosmic liturgy in thousands of cathedrals, on numerous altars.

O little leave of grass! how I thank you for your existence!...

O bright green beetle! how happy I am because you live!...

O clouds of heaven! How rejoices my existence!...

O little flower by the roadside! blessed you are by the good you do to me!...

O winds and rains, lightning and fireflies, mountains and seas! how would be my life without you?...

Receive, all of you, the homage of my gratitude, because you exist in my life!...

MONO-CENTRIC, POLY-CENTRIC

MONO-CENTRIC, POLY-CENTRIC – by Huberto Rohden

How could exist perfect tuning and harmony between man and woman?

If so diverse are their various natures, their various characters and moods?

Woman, if more feminine, more mono-centric is her nature.

Man, the more masculine, the more poly-centric is his being.

Rotates the feelings of Eva around a single axis, eminently human  - disperses the thoughts of Adam in diverse peripheral fields, assuming vast cosmic colourfulness.

If the only centre in woman is missing, she feels completely unhappy and as if suspended in a vacuum - if misses one of the centres in man, he still has many epicentres on which he can turn around his planetary system.

More intensely happy is the woman's mono-centric personality to realize her potentialities, than the poly-centric nature of man towards achieving his targets.

When a woman is emotionally involved with a man, she donates to him all her feminine human ego without leaving aside, any part of her being - when a man joins a woman, usually leaves behind some provinces of his nature.

Can a woman give herself totally to a man – but man cannot be entirely hers.

As she travels the highest spheres of subjective immolation – inquiries him the vast worlds of objective realities.

If the female soul were not unilateral, would be not so mono-centric her love – if the spirit of man were not so panoramic, would not be so poly-centric his wishes.

So will be always adorned with flowers of pain, the love of a man and a woman.

So will always be the bitter sweetness mixed with sweet bitterness...

There will always be in the intimacy of comprehension, a certain distance of incomprehension…

Between he and she, harmony will sung, but ripped with dissonance…

So is the history of humankind, an epic of light darkened by eclipses…

Therefore, O, man or woman, make from your life - that cannot be a heaven or a hell, to be – at least, a mild purgatory, a transitory place of purification, and a reasonable school for improvements…

Can human love, his and hers, be a purpose in life - but cannot be the reason for being the existence of man or woman.

Who does not know the reason why he or she exist, is unhappy - or is on the eve of unhappiness...

Translator’s note:
Mono-Centric, Poly-Centric... Meaning a person with only one or more centres of direction or decisions.

OCTOBER = GANDHI AND ROHDEN

OCTOBER = GANDHI AND ROHDEN
October 1869...  in our history, had the privilege to receive the shining figure of a great human being... Mahatma Gandhi!
October 1981...  the world said goodbye to another great soul, Huberto Rohden!
And both had the important task of bringing the mystical message of Truth, nonviolence, reverence for life, self-knowledge and self-realization, activities that were an integral part of their lives.
Mankind knows some mystics and many politicians - but a mystic and politician at the same time, it is rather strange and, at first glance, impossible. The mystic deals with the things of God and the spiritual world; the politician is interested in things of this material world and men - is it possible that, within the same individual, these two worlds are consistent, so distant and apparently so antagonistic?
Mankind knows many educators, philosophers and religious men - but an educator-philosopher and deeply religious man, is also rather strange. And in this fusion resulted a writer of phenomenal abilities of lofty ideals, leaving in his vast work, teachings that awakes man's millennial sleep where the ego dominates, for the awakening of his true Self, that friend ally to man, allowing him to open the doors of the inexhaustible fullness of light and strength.
In common man, of narrow inner spaces, cannot exist, in fact, friendship and harmony between the God of the world and the world of God.
From time to time, however, appear men of vast inner spaces, where an entire planetary system can rotate freely without collisions or disasters, around a single sun, which enlighten and vitalizes everything. Within this system forms, naturally, a dynamic tension to maintain the balance; needs to intensify its centripetal force in proportion to its centrifugal force, in order to establish a Cosmos that does not succumb to chaos.
In this struggle, in this ideal, merged the spirits of Gandhi and Rohden. And so, the privileged month of October, for all eternity, will honour these two great souls.

---   "Only in the penumbral zone of ego-consciousness is that it is possible to sin. Sin presupposes consciousness, but an imperfect consciousness. Sin is the illusion of our separation from God... unfortunately this illusion is created by the intellect".

TO SAVE THE WHOLE IS ALSO TO SAVE PART OF IT

TO SAVE THE WHOLE IS ALSO TO SAVE  PART OF IT– by Huberto Rohden

When man wants to save his little ego at the expenses of his great Self, acts illogically, anti-mathematically because it is impossible to save a part losing the Whole. But, when you save your Self, necessarily you also save your ego, which is the one in diminutive form, an embryo, potential.

Whoever saves the plant also saves the seed, which is the plant itself in its most perfect and evolved form.

All "sin" is fundamentally a mistake in logic and mathematics. Sin is ignorance, Socrates said. Jesus confirms this, saying: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. They sin because they do not know the consequences; if they knew it, they would not sin.

Sin consists essentially in the absurd attempt of the ignorant man who wants to save the lowest, sacrificing the greatest, wanting to save 10 of his little ego, sacrificing the 100 of his Self. Who saves 100, saves 10 - but who wants to save 10 sacrificing 100, loses both 100 and 10.

In this sense, the Nazarene said: "If someone wants to save his life (ego) will lose it - but whoever loses his life (ego) by the cause of me (Self) will save it”.

In fact, when the Truth is broad and universal, always has this paradoxical aspect.

Only the small and unilateral truths boast of not being paradoxical. From all unilateral truth, it can also assert the contrary, because our truths are always partial, relative.

It is necessary to die – to live…

It is necessary to dispossess of everything – to have everything…

You must lose – to win…

You must be a fool – to be wise…

You must be weak – to be strong…

You must empty yourself – to have in plenitude…

Analytical science is partial view – the overall vision is intuitive wisdom…

The penultimate level of Self-Realization is virtue – the latter is wisdom…

Who is fully free of all servitude can offer himself as the servant of all... Who is not free talks a lot about freedom and hate any servitude as the antithesis of freedom...

Only man who is fully free can be voluntarily servant...

At the zenith of freedom reduces man to the nadir of servitude...

So gloriously free is one that can be voluntarily slave...

Uncountable... are the paradoxes of the Liberating Truth!

CULTIVATOR OF MEDIOCRITY

CULTIVATOR OF MEDIOCRITY – by Huberto Rohden

My unknown friend. If you want to be a stubborn cultivator of routine and mediocrity, guide yourself by the following rules:

Before thinking, always keep yourself informed of what to think, in order not to introduce into the world, contraband of new ideas.

Never think with your own brain - but always with the brain of others.

Always say yes when others say yes - and not when others say no.

Read every morning your newspaper to find out what should be thought in the next 24 hours.

When someone comes up with new ideas, avoid this person because could be a trap, a social danger, a heretic, a terrorist, etc.

Do not expose yourself to the danger of doing what the neighbour not does - but remember the proven bourgeois wisdom: safe than sorry.

Be a devoted friend of your comfortable sofa - and do not expose yourself to the vertigo of vast horizons.

Always prefer the massive walls of a prison and the bars of the jail  instead of the uncertainty of a stratospheric flight.

Do never open closed doors - pass only through open doors.

Do not explore new paths, like the pathfinders - always walk roads and on rails previously aligned.

Always joining the bulk of the herd, as the good sheep - and do not seek a different way out of a previous routine.

In short, my distinguished cultivator of mediocrity: leave everything as it is to see how it looks.

Thinking this way, you will keep the health and tranquillity of the nerves and you can have every day, very tranquil, your beer or cocktail - as all good man does.

If, however, one day, you solve to escape from the traditional routine and expose yourself to the deadly dangers of superior ideals, then read carefully what it tells you a man who knows life:

Go to the banks of the Ganges and ask for the most robust elephant to give you his thick pachyderm skin to use as a shield for your soul.

Go to the shores of the Nile and remove from the oldest crocodile his impenetrable armour and make from it the casing of your heart.

And, after shielding your soul and your heart, make a trip all over the world and say to the men of honest mediocrity that you live for an ideal that is not in the stomach or the nerves or blood - and you will see that they will declare against you, a war of death.

For you must know, my friend, that the world does not sacrifice one idol for a warrior of ideas and ideals.

Since the boldest idealistic of history was crucified, dead and buried - all idealists are crucified by the lovers of mediocrity.

Humanity become revolted when something major, divine, happens in the world.

All that is beautiful and great - inevitably dies in the arms of the cross.

This is the glorious tragedy of the superior men.
