SACRED RETREAT

A world without mysteries would be a world without enchantments, without seas, mountains, abysses, deserts, virgin forests, starry nights – plenty of anonymous magic hidden in the universe!

A human being without mysteries ceases to be fascinating. An utterly devastated person is insipid, without charms, nor attractive. There must be in every person a virgin, anonymous, unknown, mysterious department ... some sanctuary where only the soul of that person can enter and be alone with itself.

Without this sacred retreat, one becomes banal, unattractive, insipid.

If humans knew what that means, there would be no divorce because every divorce comes from the disenchantment of charms, the trivialization of the sacred, the desecration of the sanctuary of personality.

Profane man makes to other human beings what he does with Nature: exploits it for the sake of his selfishness, but all exploitation is profanation; all selfishness is sacrilege.

Love is not only a categorical imperative of ethics, but it is also, above all, the fundamental requirement of aesthetics.
